• The Inmate Appeal Duty Counsel Program was started 14 years ago and the goal  was to provide free legal assistance to appellants that were unrepresented before the Court of Appeal.  Prior to the Inmate Appeal Duty Counsel Program’s inception unrepresented appellants (cuts to Legal Aid Ontario appeal funding has meant that more inmates are unrepresented) were forced to represent themselves in complex criminal appeals without legal assistance in either the preparation or argument of their appeals.
  •
  • The program provides free legal assistance to Appellants both in Toronto, 22 days per year (two days monthly) and Kingston, 12 days per year (two days every second month).  The program works in conjunction with The Queens Law Correctional Program.
  •
  • The Inmate Appeal Duty Counsel Program is generously funded by a grant from The Law Foundation of Ontario.

There ain’t no party like a Lagos party.

Or so they say. This weekend, Dazed flew out to Lagos, Nigeria for the third annual MTV Africa Music.
